"All beauty that has not a foundation in use, soon grows distasteful, and needs continual replacement with something new. That which has in itself the highest use possesses the greatest beauty."
Sadie &EmmaPottery Co. is located in Santa Barbara, California. We work in the style of early American potteries, utilizing local materials and use a once-firing process. Once-firing takes half as much energy as standard firing methods and delivers rich and supple glaze surfaces. This is just one of many studio practices we use in an attempt to be as eco-conscious as possible.
We strive to make classic objects that outlast trends to become a timeless staple in your home. Each piece is hand thrown and hand painted ensuring a unique quality in every pot. Every pot is non toxic and food safe. Go ahead and microwave our pots or put them in the dishwasher.
We are inspired by Marguerite Wildenhain, Edith Heath, The Shakers, and the local/organic/slow food movements. We are excited by the reawakening of traditions that surround food culture. We create tableware and house goods to support these traditions.
We appreciate your support of our small, women-owned company and hope our pots will bring you years of pleasure!
